Microsoftは5月2日(米国時間)、「Announcing the .NET Framework 4.7 General Availability｜.NET Blog」において、.NET Frameworkの最新版となる「.NET Framework 4.7」の公開を伝えた。「.NET Framework 4.7」は1ヶ月前に提供が開始されたWindows 10 Creators Updateの一部としてすでに提供が行われているが、今回のリリースで「.NET Framework 4.7」をほかのバージョンのWindowsでも利用できるようになる。

「.NET Framework 4.7」の主な変更点は次のとおり。

  • Windows 10においてWindows Formアプリケーションにおける高DPIサポートの実現
  • Windows 10においてWPFアプリケーションのタッチスクリーンをサポート
  • 暗号化機能を拡張
  • C# 7およびVisualBasic 15に対応(ValueTupleを含む)
  • .NET Standard 1.6に対応
  • パフォーマンスの向上
  • 安定性の向上

「.NET Framework 4.7」がサポートするWindowsは次のとおり。

  • Windows 10 Creators Update
  • Windows 10 Anniversary Update
  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 7 SP1
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

「.NET Framework 4.7」はWPFコンポーネントのためにDirectX 11を利用するため、Windows 7 SP1、Windows 2008 R2 SP1、Windows 2012にインストールして利用する場合はDirectXコンポーネントを別途インストールする必要がある。
