米マイクロソフトは、9月1日(現地時間)、Windows 7をベースとした組み込み用OSの新版「Windows Embedded Standard 2011」(旧コード名:Quebec)のコミュニティ テクノロジ プレビュー(CTP)版のダウンロードを、同社のサイトにおいて開始した。

Windows Embedded Standard 2011では、Active Directoryやグループ ポリシーに対応するほか、Microsoft System Center Configuration Managerなどに対する相互運用性の向上する。

また、Windows Media Player 12を搭載し、.Net Framework 3.5、64ビット CPU、Windows Aero、Windows Presentation Foundation、Windows Touch、Windows Flip 3Dなどに対応する。
